Scotiabank is currently seeking a Senior Manager GBM Data Office to join our growing team! This role contributes to the overall success of the GBM Data Office ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team\'s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures and are in alignment with the Enterprise Data Standards.

In this role you will manage the relationship with AML leadership and is responsible for the establishment of a data governance program and organizing the \xe2\x80\x9cbusiness-as-usual\xe2\x80\x9d activities of the data governance function in the data domain.

The individual works as the liaison between GBM Data Office and AML Data area, meeting with key individuals to identify the and prioritize the activities within the AML related data domains. This includes the advice of control management activities for the AML areas; identification of the critical business processes, reports and data elements, identification, implementation and maintenance of key controls and the establishment of data quality rules and measurement; the monitoring of data quality; identification and prioritization of data quality issues; root cause analysis; and oversight of the remediation of these issues

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Responsible for executing the Domain\'s day-to-day data management activities, including remediating data quality issues and implementing change management processes.
  • Responsible for GBM DO review of DFS 504 annually.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong data management capabilities:
  • Developing and maintaining accurate data lineage for critical data (working with IT)
  • Documentation of end-to-end processes, including EUCs and Key Controls
  • Establishment of Service Level agreements with appropriate data providers
  • Establishment of Data quality measurements and reporting
  • Responsible for adherence to the Enterprise and U.S. Data Policies and Data Standards and Playbooks.
  • Responsible for new demand and prioritization of data-related requirements, data controls, data sourcing, and intake strategy.
  • Assessment and remediation of related audit findings which relate to the GBM AML control environment
  • Facilitate the adoption of the authorized sources of data to include GBM Data Platform and centralized repositories.
  • Create DQ rules for use in measurement and get approvals for DQ rules for use in measurement
  • Accountable to ensure that the Domain is in compliance with the U.S. Data Governance Framework and Enterprise Data Management Policy
  • Responsible for C-level communications, to include senior BSA/AML & OFAC management, Internal Audit, and Data Office.
  • Responsible for the Data Maturity Model DQ assessment and metrics and Annual Attestation of the Domain.
  • Understand how the Bank\'s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
