Employment Opportunity: Legal Assistant (Senior) We are seeking to add a legal assistant who will be a core member of our 5 lawyer and growing legal services team on a full-time basis. Essential Functions: \xc2\xb7 Transcribing dictation via Olympus transcription software \xc2\xb7 Assisting lawyers with court filings \xc2\xb7 Managing court filing deadlines and coordination of hearing dates \xc2\xb7 Developing and maintaining filing systems \xc2\xb7 Opening and organizing client files including managing limitation periods \xc2\xb7 Administrative duties as required such as managing calendars, coordinating meetings and making travel arrangements \xc2\xb7 Assisting with client billings and preparing invoices and account letters \xc2\xb7 Maintaining up to date contact information for clients and vendors \xc2\xb7 Consistently uphold strict standards of confidentiality \xc2\xb7 Provide reception and secretarial support \xc2\xb7 Assist in preparation of exhibit binders for depositions, hearings and trials \xc2\xb7 Manage the case calendar and keep an eye on deadlines \xc2\xb7 Prepare various documents and correspondence \xc2\xb7 Plan and execute service of documents and correspondence on parties \xc2\xb7 Answer incoming calls and assist in handling high volume phone lines \xc2\xb7 Aid attorneys with client intake \xc2\xb7 File hard copies of documents as well as maintain the electronic document system \xc2\xb7 Maintain exceptional client service standards Qualifications: \xc2\xb7 We prefer candidates with a Legal Assistant Diploma from an accredited college but will consider candidates with suitable experience \xc2\xb7 Minimum 5 years experience as a Legal Assistant required \xc2\xb7 Experience in commercial litigation assistance required \xc2\xb7 Strong administrative and organizational skills \xc2\xb7 Self-starter with an ability to identify, take charge of and manage administrative tasks such as file and document management with minimal supervision Software Knowledge (Essential to have, but we will train): Cosmolex practice management and accounting, Olympus transcription, Microsoft Office Suite core products (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook), Worldox document management, Zoom, Eclipse SE evidence management.
