The Senior Supervisor at CONC is more than just a title--it's a commitment to fostering hope, cultivating leadership, and driving forward the mission of our Food Services program. You'll be a mentor, a coach, and the cornerstone of a dedicated team, working collaboratively to ensure that we're not just sustaining bodies but also nurturing spirits.

The Senior Supervisor, Food Services will not only lead the daily operations of the shelter kitchen at the primary location but will also travel to and oversee operations at various sites as required. This role necessitates a dynamic individual who can efficiently plan, execute, and ensure on-time delivery of meals at multiple shelters, all while coordinating a diverse crew and maintaining high standards of quality and nutrition.

Beyond supervising daily operations, this role also involves stepping in to cover for the absence of kitchen supervisors at other sites, ensuring continuity and consistency in service and operations.

Required Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 10.00 am-06.00 pm

Key Responsibilities:



o Oversight Across Multiple Sites:

With the collaboration of management, continue to build upon existing systems to create a standardized Food Service operation across the organization. The focus should be on consistent standards, quality control, and team-building events, while maintaining the unique integrity of each location. Travel to other shelters/sites as necessary to supervise kitchen operations, provide support, and ensure standards are met. Cover for absent kitchen supervisors, ensuring a seamless experience for both staff and shelter residents.

o Collaboration:

Close collaboration with the Rexdale supervisor on a day-to-day basis regarding quality checks, ordering, inventory management, and staff well-being. Engage closely with the Food Services Managers on team engagement, service delivery standards, resident needs, and operational systems. This role acts as a crucial liaison between management/organization needs and team functions and serves as a mentor to coaching site supervisors, ensuring they are progressing and aligning with CONC's vision and goals.

o Lead and Supervise Workflow:

Plan, execute, and ensure on-time delivery of catering for shelter residents at applicable shelter site(s), including the primary location and others you may be assigned to. This also involves timely production planning and executing special events in conjunction with Management for CONC events at any site.

o Staff Management:

Schedule kitchen staff, manage staffing challenges, and adjust for staffing requirements at different sites in collaboration with the Manager of Food Service. Participate in hiring, training, and performance management, including discipline, across all sites.

Menu and Inventory:

Contribute to menu planning and development, inventory ordering, and inventory receiving as applicable to your designated site(s) and other sites you may visit.

Maintain Organized Operations:

Ensure a clean and organized kitchen, pantry, and food service space at all locations. Ensure compliance with safe food handling and public health requirements consistently across sites.

o Equipment and Facility Management:

Promptly report and assist in resolving issues related to equipment, pest control, and facilities at all sites you're overseeing.

o Service Standards:

Maintain excellent, consistent service standards for every meal, considering portion sizes, food safety, presentation, and accurate preparation and labeling of dietary restrictions.

o Reporting

: Contribute to monthly reports that detail meals prepared and delivered, food usage, and waste for all sites under your supervision.

o Relationship Building:

Develop, maintain, and model relationships with co-workers across all sites, shelter residents, and other stakeholders that are friendly, inclusive, and professional.

Job Qualifications:



Experience:



5-6 years in leadership in Food Service or hospitality, supervising multiple catering staff and coordinating across multiple sites. 6-8 years of professional cooking and baking, including high volume catering. Skill in developing menus, budgets, and efficient operating systems.

Skills & Abilities:



Exceptional standards in quality control and service delivery. Expertise in time management, problem solving, strategic planning, and team
engagement.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel. Strong collaboration skills across departments, emphasizing transparency and
teamwork.

A knack for leadership and a talent for mentoring with compassion and guidance with an empathic approach to management that values the creation of a positive work environment and fosters staff retention. Exceptional organizational skills with a strategic mindset aimed at long-term objectives.

Miscellaneous:

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
