What is the opportunity?

The Job Management and Governance team is responsible for working with HR teams and business partners to manage Workday's Job Architecture and oversee the process for creating new jobs and conducting job evaluations.

The Senior Job Evaluation Consultant will be a key member of the team working closely with HR teams and business partners to help define new jobs, collect all necessary data to create jobs in Workday. The candidate will have extensive job evaluation experience to work with business partners in the review and evaluation of jobs following RBC's job evaluation methodology. This job reports to the Director, Job Management and Governance and may lead or contribute to projects as necessary.

What will you do?

Applying your experience in Job Evaluation, Job Design, Organizational Design and Job Architecture you will play a key role in advising on the end to end process of job management in Workday. You will support all businesses, geographies and legal entities developing expertise in the RBC workforce and business or regional differences. The breadth of expertise will allow you to contribute and think broadly as you participate on cross functional teams.

  • Oversee and/or contribute to business-as-usual requests relating to the creation and maintenance of jobs and job families in Workday
  • Act as lead job evaluator in the evaluation of jobs ensuring processes are followed correctly
  • Contributes expertise to maintaining and evolving the Pay Equity infrastructure
  • Lead discussions with stakeholders to understand needs and determine optimal solutions related to job architecture, or may work with partners to identify alternate pathways
  • Using an agile mindset, take ownership of projects related to job governance, job architecture or job evaluation
  • Be a supportive and trusted advisor to stakeholders
  • Lead or contribute to projects as necessary
  • Play a leading role in the application of the job governance engagement model with relevant stakeholders to support a high level of stakeholder engagement and satisfaction
  • Lead discovery/intake discussions with stakeholders, and conduct internal research to ensure strong understanding of business rationale, job content and context for job profiles
  • Support RBC's pay equity governance and infrastructure through the consistent application of RBC's job evaluation methodology, developing job documentation and supporting related initiatives as needed
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset by researching and/or implementing process enhancements that result in process efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Play an active role in leading or contributing to team deliverables by partnering with team members on various items e.g. testing, process mapping, documentation, research, etc.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of diverse work experience in one or more areas (job design, job frameworks, job architecture, job sizing, compensation design, organizational design)
  • Experience with Workday; with an understanding of job related attributes and job architecture.
  • Experience in managing job evaluations e.g. job design, job analysis, job evaluation
  • Knowledge of project management to effectively manage tasks and timelines
  • Strong listening, verbal communication and organizational awareness skills
  • Experience conducting consulting engagements with senior leaders to assess problems and provide solutions that result in positive experiences
  • Strong consulting mindset and organizational awareness
  • Comfortable managing data including analysis, accuracy and reports
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness, organization design and change management frameworks and methodologies
  • Strong consultative skills navigate sensitive topics and conversations
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing ways of work, priorities and requirements
  • Passion for Strategic HR as a driver of business results
