The Counterparty Market Risk group at TD Securities is seeking experienced Java Developers to build the next generation of risk computation platforms. The core mission of the applications we build is to help the firm quantify, understand, and reduce our external total exposure in case of adverse market conditions. We operate within a modern and complex area of finance, operating with sophisticated computational models, supporting billions of calculations daily and leveraging Big Data storage for analytics and data distribution.

Job Requirements

What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:

• 5-7 years relevant experience.
• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Experience writing clean and concise code using Java 8+
• Java experience including a good understanding of solid core Java, concurrency and multi-threading, and Spring/Spring boot (~ 5 years +)
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Experience with NoSQL databases (Ex. Cassandra, HBase)
• Experience implementing API (Rest, ZMQ, grpc, Swagger)
• Experience with distributed streaming systems (Ex. Kafka, Pulsar)
• Familiarity with Cloud, Microservices architecture and Devops processes and best practices.
• Experience with Azure public cloud or GCP
• Experience working on large projects in a fast-paced environment using high visibility collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence
• Experience with development tools and frameworks such as Maven, Jenkins, Git, and TeamCity.
• Good communicator with strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong responsibility and team player

About This Role

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer that will work on the collection, storage, processing, and analysis of large data sets using microservice architecture in a hybrid network environment at TD Securities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of microservices and. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies to solve problems of scale and speed.

• Perform analysis, design, programming, and testing, based on SDLC methodology
• Conduct and participate in code reviews
• Monitor performance and advise any necessary application or infrastructure changes
• Involve in cloud engineering including IaaS, PaaS.
• Leverage best practices in continuous integration and delivery
• Competent to analyze, resolve issues/tasks independently
• Transform business requirements and research into winning delivery solutions that meet performance goals.
• Rigorously build and test applications.
• Perform systems administration: monitor, configure, back-up, authenticate, tune.
• Aim for defect-free programming, create and maintain quality code, provide support during testing cycles and post-production deployment, engage in peer code reviews.
• Contribute to project plans, estimations and status updates.
• Identify issues, develop and maintain processes that address and resolve them, (and be sure to communicate/alert stakeholders as needed).
• Primarily focus on day-to-day activities.
• Make enhancements and troubleshoot.
• Configure and develop custom components with technology partners (analysts, developers, designers etc.) to meet requirements and goals.
• Ensure applications are free of common coding vulnerabilities (and follow standard security practices).
• Proactively put forward ideas that speak to project objectives (e.g. development, testing solutions, and tools).
• Complete unit and integration testing per standards and design specs.
• Take part in scope assessment, risk and cost analysis.
• Respect TD\'s technology delivery practices and standards, project management disciplines.
• Stay on top of state-of-health monitoring and monthly SLA targets.
• Apply and share technical expertise during incident management life cycle (e.g. analyzes reports and outages, perform impact assessments, facilitate stakeholder communication).
