On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Senior Instructional Designer: eLearning for Healthcare to join our Client's team on a Contract basis. This role is Hybrid and the Client is based in Burnaby, BC.Summary of the Role
The Senior Instructional Designer will support the Clinical Informatics department by designing and delivering engaging digital learning solutions. This includes creating eLearning modules, storyboards, and other content for a provincial LMS. The role emphasizes instructional design, content development, and quality assurance to support healthcare workforce training.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and develop eLearning modules using tools such as Articulate and Camtasia
  • Conduct needs analysis and apply adult learning principles and instructional design models
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate content into engaging, digital formats
  • Create and maintain storyboards, interactive learning objects, and SCORM-compliant content
  • Ensure content quality through usability testing and feedback integration
  • Manage documentation, timelines, and project deliverables
  • Support publishing and management of content in an LMS
Core Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of instructional design and systems eLearning development experience
  • Proficiency in Articulate, Camtasia, and LMS platforms
  • Strong understanding of learning theories and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field
  • Experience leading eLearning initiatives with strong project documentation
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience in Home Support or Health Authority environments
  • Familiarity with text-to-speech tools and healthcare system workflows
  • Ability to create show me videos and SCORM content
  • Experience responding to post-implementation feedback
  • Strong evaluation and documentation capabilities
Terms
This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of two 6-month extensions. The role is hybrid, with specific onsite/remote details to be confirmed. Candidates are expected to use their own hardware.
