As Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you are responsible for support, availability and performance of telephony and data networks for Westland including head office, regional offices, and our retail branches. This role combines day to day support and operations responsibility with longer term planning, proactive management and input towards firewall, voice & data strategy for the organization.

Working closely with outsourced service providers, our head office, telecom providers and other vendors, the role provides day to day support as well as supporting strategic proactive planning on this key area of our business. This role requires an advanced knowledge of wired and wireless networking, IP telephony, firewalls, and cloud-based environment. Strategic thinking is required to ensure Westland provides best in class services to our branches and staff in a cost-effective manner

Why we'll love You:

10 or more years' experience in a similar role

Ensure high availability of enterprise voice and data platforms that support internal employee business functions and external customer contact.

Troubleshoot and remediate 4th level issues impacting the operation of the corporate voice and data infrastructure.

At least 2 years of experience in Cloud infrastructure and Azure network experience

Serve as one of the primary points of contact for telecommunication carriers and service providers and coordinate circuit design, provisioning, installation, and troubleshooting.

Experience in managing and supporting security profiles: WEB/DNS/URL filtering, Intrusion prevention and SSL inspection

Experience with MS Azure is required

Hands on experience in managing and supporting Fortinet Firewalls, FortiGate Extenders, Meraki switches and APs

Hands on experience with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer

Hand on experience in managing SD-WAN setup within hub-and-spoke model.

Experience in managing and supporting IPSEC VPN tunnels including traffic shaping for business-critical applications

Experience with managing and supporting Express Routes for connectivity to Cloud providers

Exceptional knowledge of networking technologies (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).

Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices

Understanding of security and related standards within the industry

Security certification is an asset

Strong network Infrastructure performance monitoring and tuning experience

Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent English written and verbal communication skills

Well organized and self-motivated to learn

ITSM experience and\or ITIL certification is an asset

Ability to work off hours as required to minimize disruption of services during business operational hours

Once here, you'll:

Designing and implementing cloud computing solutions for data storage, backup, and recovery

Providing technical support to other members of the engineering team throughout the design process

Assisting in the development of new engineering standards and procedures for use in future projects

Developing and implementing designs for new facilities based on client needs and requirements

Design, build, and maintain virtualized and scalable infrastructure through reusable code and tooling

Performing cost analyses and developing budgets for projects

Developing long-term plans for new infrastructures

Analyzing the impact of proposed changes to existing infrastructure on existing systems

Coordinating work with contractors and subcontractors throughout construction projects

Managing staff to ensure that all tasks are completed within deadline and budget requirements

Proactive and reactive problem management

Proactive resolution of infrastructure, network and voice services.

Deployment of next generation networks and supporting VOIP implementations across Westland environments.

Experience of setting up Network set-up from scratch (incl design, solutioning, racking, stacking, etc.)

Building and managing cloud works loads that support Westland next generation network

Capacity planning for WAN/ LAN and Wireless services.

Leverage cloud, automation, and orchestration services to continuously improve network services.

Supporting the deployment of new technologies

Creating, maintaining, and updating the network knowledge base and documentation
