Vena is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help us scale our SaaS cloud platform. This role is a match for you if you love building highly scalable, resilient and automated services.

As an Infrastructure Engineer you will be part of a collaborative and tight-knit team whose focus is infrastructure as code and fostering a DevOps culture across the department and company.

What you will do:

• Deploy to production daily!
• Work with Infrastructure as code with a focus on continuous improvement
• Resolve problems related to building scalable infrastructure
• Develop tools and services responsible for managing our cloud infrastructure
• Automate all the things
• Work with Agile, cross-functional team members on features, design and implementation
• Support internal development and architecture teams

Infrastructure Stack:

• CI/CD pipeline implemented using Jenkins
• Code hosted on Github Enterprise
• Packer builds all our AMIs
• Terraform provisions static resources
• Ansible deploys code to our instances
• Scripts written in Python
• Fully hosted on AWS

Technology Stack:

• A Java 8 back-end Server using Google Guice, Hibernate, and Dropwizard
• A custom-built OLAP processing engine with our in house DSL, and ANTLR-based compiler
• Modern data stores like MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Redshift, MySQL and InfluxDB
• Supporting micro-services written in Java, Kotlin and GoLang

Does this sound like you?

• 3+ years of programming experience
• Ability to learn new languages and technologies
• Knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals
• Excellent analytical skills, coupled with a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
• Knowledge of Linux networking
• Familiarity with REST or gRPC
• Comfortable with the Unix / Linux shell
• Experience with a cloud-based SaaS product

Nice to have:

• Experience with Containers (Docker, Rkt, LXD, etc)
• Experience with Container orchestration (Kubernetes, Swarm, Mesos)
• Experience with distributed tracing tools (Jaeger, Zipkin)
• Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
