Summary
As the Senior Human Resources Generalist (HR), reporting to the Vice President, Finance & Human Resources, you are responsible for applying business knowledge and human resources expertise. You will assist in providing a wide range of HR support and advice. You will be a key contributor to the design, delivery and maintenance of Human Resources programs including talent acquisition, talent management, recruitment, rewards programs; training and development; legal compliance; performance management; compensation; company policies and procedures; employee communications; and corporate culture. You will must possess a thorough understanding of both the operational and strategic side of the business. Other vital skills include well-honed organizational abilities, a high degree of professional ethics and sense of fairness and the ability to work with individuals at all levels. Flexibility is extremely important as a senior generalist must rapidly shift from one HR function to another depending on the situation. You must also have excellent decision-making capabilities and be comfortable guiding others toward making sound business choices.
What you do

  • Administer the recruitment process (create job postings, schedule, and conduct interviews, create offers, conducts reference checks, prepare new hire package).
  • Work cross-functionally with leaders across the organization to support HR programs and initiatives.
  • Participate in compensation benchmarking surveys to ensure market competitiveness across all jurisdictions.
  • Play a key role in the performance management program.
  • Develop, update and maintain corporate and regional policies and programs
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders on employee-related initiatives and provide thought-leadership in areas such as Career Development, Compensation, Talent Development/Management, Employee Engagement and leadership.
  • Participate in the design of a job evaluation process to determine classification and appropriate compensation ranges for roles.
  • Responsible for the ongoing administration of all HR technology, tools and programs, including our HRIS.
  • Be the first line of contact for any employee relations\' issues (escalate as needed) and provide HR policy guidance.
  • Set the tone for the company, and ensure legal compliance with regulatory reporting and employment standards (e.g., vacation management, health & safety, AODA, etc.)
  • Enhance the onboarding process to ensure the successful integration of new team members and accelerate their time to productivity.
  • Establish HR metrics and analytics that drive insight and inform decisions.

What you need
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or related discipline; or a combination of education and work experience in HR
  • CHRP designation would be considered an asset
  • 7-10 years of experience in a human resources role, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the high technology environment
  • Proven expertise in developing HR policies and procedures, and benefits management
  • Demonstrated experience with employment legislation in Canada; familiar with international employment legislation
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with MS Office suite; familiarity with BambooHR an asset
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Exceptional listening skills and ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees of all levels in the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Tactful, diplomatic and able to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion
  • Written and verbal communication skills in French an asset
