Senior Human Resource Generalist

Job Description


Responsibilities:

Lead initiatives such as pre-screening, scheduling interviews, attending hourly interviews as needed, coordinating & facilitating onboarding and new hire follow-ups.
Promote & effectively lead company Employee programs.
Provide support to the Operations team in the following areas:
New hire information, onboarding/off-boarding, attendance management, and training.
Initiate & maintain employees personal, performance and training records.
Facilitate positive interaction between employees, and management through fair and consistent application of policies, practices, and procedures while leading objective investigations and issue resolution processes.
Roll out new company policies and initiatives in a positive, proactive way ensuring effective communication at all levels of the site.
Act as the first point of contact with employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures and practices including policy compliance with changes in legislation or corporate policies.
Work with HR Manager to report out on KPI\'s including monthly termination reports, performance review data, and attendance management.
Locally assist with employee relation initiatives which includes organizing company engagement events, employee recognition & service awards, holiday celebrations, community outreach initiatives, wellness initiatives alongside our HR Co-ordinator.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Human Resources Diploma or Certificate, CHRP designation

Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in an HR role, with a strong recruitment background in manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with manufacturing (hourly) employees and professional (salary) employees and various levels of management in North America.
Ability to work effectively across functional lines in a global matrixed environment.
Strong written and oral English communications skills, and strong influencing capabilities.
Experienced professional supporting programs within HR functional areas including Employee Relations, Talent Effectiveness, Performance Management and Development, and Talent Acquisition.

SPECIFIC SKILL, ABILITY & KNOWLEDGE:

Familiarity with an HRIS system such as UKG Pro is an asset.
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work amidst competing priorities.
Highly efficient in record keeping and administration.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide recommendations that effectively contribute to issue resolution using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures or government law.
Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) to effectively present information in one-on-one situations and in small group settings.
