We are seeking an HR/LR professional to join our multifaceted team. Reporting to the Director, HR Business Partners, the Senior HR Business Partner operates in an integrated and dynamic business model to provide strategic-level human resource services to internal clients.
The Senior HR Business Partner collaborates with the department's senior leadership team to understand business strategy and priorities and translates those business needs into effective people strategies. This position guides a team of human resource professionals in building organizational capacity, structures, and processes, supporting business areas to lead their workforce, and increasing organizational effectiveness. It also provides comprehensive labour relations services in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
What will you do?
Lead a team of HR professionals, ensuring communication and integration of information to ensure client service delivery while gaining an in-depth understanding of our partners unique operational needs and challenges to provide strategic and impactful advice
Drive the strategic alignment of HR initiatives with overarching organizational goals and objectives
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing expert guidance on complex HR challenges and opportunities
Mentor and guide a team of HR Business Partners and HR Consultants to advise on collective agreements, effectively manage workplace disputes and provide sound performance management advice to clients in a portfolio-based model
Apply advanced understanding of Alberta labour legislation including the Labour Relations Code, the Employment Standards Code, and the Alberta Human Rights Act to provide expert advice, identifying risks and develop mitigation strategies
Provide strategic advice and guidance on organizational development & design, change leadership, issues management, talent management, and roll-out of corporate HR initiatives for their clients, including designing and implementing team effectiveness strategies
In collaboration with colleagues across Employee Services, deliver on key corporate projects and initiatives (lead and/or participate in the development, implementation, and communication of corporate human resources related programs, projects, initiatives, policies and processes)
Qualifications
:Knowledge, training and/or education in Business, Human Resources, Labour/Industrial Relations or a related discipline
Experience leading a multidisciplinary team of HR professionals in a large, complex organization
Senior-level labour relations experience, including providing advice to a diverse range of clients in the areas of grievance disputes and interpretation of collective agreements
Related experience providing advice and strategic human resources consulting to senior-level management
Proven project management, change management, creative problem solving, systems thinking, and organizational skills
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Assets:
A Chartered Professional in Human Resources Designation
Additional training in public administration and/or financial management

Conditions of Employment and Work Environment:
1 permanent, full-time position
Hours of Work: 36.9 hours per week, Monday - Friday. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite.
Salary: (Annually) $126,832.94 - $158,541.69
