Job Summary:
The Senior HR Business Partner will serve as a strategic partner to the Signal Integrity Products Group Business Unit and other Functional Groups, providing expert HR guidance and support to drive business results while enhancing employee experience. This role will also serve as the "boots on the ground" for other business units which have Canada based employees and requires someone who can effectively navigate the diverse regulatory landscapes of Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec while building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
As a key member of the HR team, the successful candidate will act as a change agent and trusted advisor, translating business strategy into effective people initiatives. They will be responsible for diagnosing organizational challenges and implementing programs that address both immediate operational needs and long-term strategic objectives across our Canadian offices.
The ideal candidate thrives in a multi-faceted environment, demonstrates exceptional judgment when handling complex employee matters, and possesses the diplomatic skills to navigate sensitive conversations with leaders and employees alike.
A critical aspect of this role also involves serving as the primary liaison between the Business Unit and our HR Centers of Excellence, ensuring that specialized HR functions deliver solutions that meet the specific needs of the business. The Senior HRBP will collaborate with these centers to translate corporate HR initiatives into locally relevant programs while providing valuable field insights to inform HR strategy development.
This is a contract position for a minimum of 1 year
Note this role may require occasional travel to other offices
Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Partnership (50%)Partner with business leaders, up to business unit GMs, to understand business objectives and develop and/or implement HR strategies that support these goals
Provide HR counsel to managers on employee relations, performance management, talent development, and organizational effectiveness
Identify workforce trends and recommend proactive solutions to address potential issues
Support organizational change management initiatives across all locations
Collaborate closely with HR Centers of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent Development & HR Technology) to design and implement integrated people solutions tailored to regional needs
Serve as the bridge between business units and specialized HR functions, ensuring Centers of Excellence programs meet the unique requirements of each location
Employee Relations & Engagement (20%)Serve as the primary HR contact for approximately 250 employees across four locations
Manage complex employee relations issues with sensitivity and in compliance with provincial regulations
Partner with leaders to review Engagement survey results, conduct focus groups, partner to create and roll out action plans
Talent Management (20%)Partner with Talent Acquisition on recruitment strategy to fill critical positions across all locations, with awareness of regional talent markets
Guide managers through performance review processes and talent calibration
Identify and develop high-potential employees through succession planning
Partner with leadership on retention strategies for key positions within the organization
Onboarding of new hires
Compliance & Policy Management (10%)Ensure compliance with employment legislation specific to Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec
Develop and implement HR policies that align with provincial regulations while maintaining organizational consistency
Stay current on legislative changes affecting each location and recommend appropriate adjustments
Conduct investigations in accordance with Canadian labour laws and company policy

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
15+ years of progressive HR experience
3-5 years supporting a Business Unit or a Functional Group, being the first point of contact for Senior Leadership
Proven experience working in a fast-paced global environment
In-depth knowledge of employment legislation in Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec
Strong understanding of Canadian HR best practices and emerging trends
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills and proven ability to influence without direct authority
Comfortable with ambiguity and adapting to different work environments
Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Advanced change management capabilities
Strategic thinking with tactical execution abilities
Experience with Workday
Desired QualificationsCHRL Certification preferred
