Senior Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator K-Line Construction Ltd. is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator to oversee the activities of K-Line Construction and its affiliates (K-Line Group). This position will report to the VP \xe2\x80\x93 Compliance. The primary focus of this position will be on our powerline and civil construction divisions. The individual in this position will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the K-Line workplace, to make sure that employees within that setting comply with corporate and government safety regulations and policies. This successful applicant will engage the Operational Managers of the Powerline and Civil Divisions of the K-Line Group to determine the specific nature of policies that are required throughout the organization, and educate, monitor and mentor all employees on the corporate policies related to their work. Responsibilities \xc2\xb7 Ensure the organizational activities comply with local health and safety regulations and the best practices in the industry \xc2\xb7 Work in close relation with the management and set safety standards in workplaces \xc2\xb7 Carry out risk assessments and identifying hazards \xc2\xb7 Carry out safety inspections and internal audits and reporting to the management for corrective actions \xc2\xb7 Ensure preventive measures, hazard control and personal protective equipment are implemented and used \xc2\xb7 Assist in establishment of health and safety policies \xc2\xb7 Develop occupational health and safety systems, policies, procedures, manuals and arrange for exercises and training \xc2\xb7 Record and maintain all safety related events \xc2\xb7 Investigate and report accidents and near misses \xc2\xb7 Identify and develop relevant training programs for company workers and management \xc2\xb7 Manage input and information flow within multiple safety compliance platforms \xe2\x80\x93 ie; Cognibox, ComplyWorks, Avetta, ISNetworld. Requirements \xe2\x80\x93 Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge \xc2\xb7 Must have excellent communication skills to pass important messages (safety precautions) to workers and management in a way that is clear to everyone concerned \xc2\xb7 Must possess excellent interpersonal skills \xc2\xb7 Must have excellent organizational skills \xc2\xb7 Must have a keen eye for even the smallest of details \xc2\xb7 Must be someone that can easily motivate others\xe2\x80\x99 \xc2\xb7 Must be a \xe2\x80\x9cchange agent\xe2\x80\x9d \xc2\xb7 Must have good leadership skills to be able to carry everyone along and achieve set goals \xc2\xb7 Must have in-depth knowledge of safety legislation and procedures/processes \xc2\xb7 Must have basic knowledge of data reporting processes \xc2\xb7 3 years work experiences as a safety coordinator in an established firm or company \xc2\xb7 Must have the relevant safety management certification that is required to work as a safety coordinator or relative experience \xc2\xb7 Must be willing to travel throughout the Maritimes \xc2\xb7 Must be willing to work with the growing divisions of K-Line to ensure safe practices are adhered to and risk gets minimized \xc2\xb7 Beneficial for the candidate to have some operational power certification, and relevant safety or operational experience within a similar organization or Utility \xc2\xb7 Beneficial for the candidate to have previous exposure to civil construction safety practices Compensation: \xc2\xb7 Competitive wages based on experience \xc2\xb7 Per Diems and Lodging when travelling \xc2\xb7 Comprehensive Group Health Plan that includes medical, dental, vision care Company matching Pension Plan Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Benefits:
