AECOM is seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator for work on the Faro Mine Remediation Project (FMRP). This position is based at the former Faro Mine site. In addition to providing direction and oversight to the health and safety protocols at the site, the role may include assisting our environmental team with sampling and other on-site roles as required.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Implement and manage company and client Health and Safety programs for the FMRP.

+ Provides support to the AECOM Site Manager, AECOM Project Managers, field staff and subcontractors to help the team achieve and maintain SH&E goals and objectives.

+ Assists in identifying, logging and monitoring hazards that could be present in the work area.

+ Works with others to identify, investigate and track all losses, and near losses.

+ Participates in recommending improvement in processes, design, procedures, and equipment to minimize hazards.

+ Participate in, and directs employee and contractor training, and emergency preparedness to ensure health and safety compliance.

+ Perform visits at various work sites around the Faro Mine site, and provide field observations.

+ Work with the AECOM Site Manager, Project Managers and field coordinators in the development, delivery and management of field programs.

+ Maintain field equipment which includes: calibrating equipment, ordering rental equipment, and keeping an inventory of equipment.

+ Ensures that quality control procedures are executed to monitor all aspects of regulations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

+ High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

+ Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license

+ 1 year + experience in the environmental and/or safety role
