THE ROLE: Reporting to the Senior Health and Safety Coordinator, you will provide Health & Safety (H&S) subject matter expertise to support our Drilling, Completions and Construction (DCC) teams. You will oversee the H&S performance and repeatability for these field teams, and provide leadership to H&S contractors.

You will work in a camp environment, located 130 km from Fort St. John and will cover our field locations in North East BC. Your shift schedule will be 14 days on, and 14 days off, and you will be required to provide on-call support while on shift. This is a Safety Sensitive Position, and therefore, you must be able to pass pre-employment and pre-access drug and alcohol screening and background checks.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Provide leadership for a team of field Health & Safety (H&S) contractors, including shift schedules and handovers, performance proficiency, incident investigations and assurance activities on all DCC sites
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assure H&S compliance to both Company and Regulatory requirements on all worksites
  • Mentor and coach all contractors providing service on worksite to support quality and repeatability of H&S site performance
  • Ensure field performance through trend analysis, yearly verification targets and compliance requirements
  • Lead and/or support field investigations as requested by the Company
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Complete or actively working towards your Health and Safety Diploma
  • 10+ years' experience in either health and safety related to Drilling and Completions Operations, or combined experience in Drilling and/or Completions and H&S under a prime contractor;
  • Experience in leading investigations and trained in various Root Cause Mythologies. Tri-pod Beta is considered an asset
  • Solid knowledge of BC Occupational Health & Safety regulations
  • A professional Health & Safety designation such as Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) would be considered an asset
