Your future role on our team
This opportunity is for a self-motivated g[MN1] eotechnical engineer who is team-oriented with outstanding experience in assessment, analyse, studies, design and leadership across the hydroelectric, mining and heavy civil infrastructure sectors. Your primary role will be to engage with our clients to solve their complex challenges and to work closely with our senior, intermediate and junior geotechnical and civil engineers to deliver these projects. You will also be involved in the business development and strategic development for Geotechnical engineering services of BBA.

Act as a technical lead or reviewer for geotechnical projects
Provide early-stage technical guidance in support of our technical risk management/assessment
Develop tools, system, process, blogs, conference papers and training to develop and promote our service offerings
Lead the production of geotechnical reports, specifications, and drawings
Prepare and manage site investigation plans
Lead geotechnical investigations, geohazard evaluations, air-photo/LiDAR interpretations, slope stability evaluation, instrumentation, and construction monitoring
Mentor, coach and train less experienced professionals as required
Develop strategic client relationships
Provide support to business development and proposals with technical expertise
Travel to project sites mainly in Canada.

Mine design (site drainage, tailings and sub-surface infrastructure)
Hydroelectric dams
Earth dams and levees
Waste rock stability
Drilling, field investigations and laboratory testing
Shallow/deep Foundation analysis and design
Liquefaction potential assessment

Overview of certifications and job requirements

B.Sc. or M.Sc.in Civil Engineering; an emphasis on geotechnical engineering is required
15-20+ years of experience in geotechnical projects
A high level of proficiency with advanced 2D and 3D static and dynamic soil-structures interaction and geostructural design software such as Plaxis 2D et 3D, FLAC2D et 3D, Roc Science (RS2/RS3, RSpile, Slide2/3),Geostudio (Slope/W, Sigma/W, Seep/W)
Profound knowledge in the fields of geotechnical engineering and soil mechanics and applicable codes, standards, procedures, safety and other regulatory requirements and guidelines
Professional engineer designation with EGBC or equivalent
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
