Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced

Senior French Tutor

to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in French language and literature, with the ability to inspire and engage students in their learning journey. This role involves developing comprehensive lesson plans, delivering high-quality instruction, and preparing students for success in

Ontario curriculum, IB French, AP French, and DELF examinations

Duties

Develop and implement engaging French lesson plans that align with the Ontario curriculum and international standards (IB/AP/DELF). Deliver dynamic, high-quality French lessons to K-12 students in private 1-on-1 or small group settings. Provide constructive feedback to support students' language acquisition and academic growth. Integrate cultural components (Francophone literature, history, current events) to enrich student learning. Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance the overall educational experience and participate in professional development. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.

Requirements

Master's degree or higher in French Literature, Education, Applied Linguistics, or related field.

Ontario Certified Teacher

(OCT) designation is an asset. Minimum 3 years of teaching experience, ideally within private schools or reputable tutoring companies. Experience tutoring IB French, AP French, and/or preparing students for DELF exams is highly desirable. Native or near-native proficiency in French, with excellent communication skills in English. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in lesson planning and assessment. Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and proficiency levels. A passion for French language, literature, and education, with a commitment to student success.
