Responsibilities

PRIMARY PURPOSE



Provides functional support and advisory to business users for development, implementation, maintenance and upgrading of the financial system and related interfaces that support the management in decision making process across TransLink enterprise.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES



Provides functional support for implementation and maintenance of the corporate financial information system, financial reporting and related interfaces with other corporate systems. Administers financial information systems security by establishing user data access and activity access to tables and databases, sets up security groups and group access.



Provides day to day support for end users on financial reporting including assisting in budgeting and forecasting data uploads into the financial system. Develops business and system process documentation and training materials; facilitates training for all financial system users across the enterprise, as assigned.



Liaises with system users to conduct reporting requirements analyses for standard and customized financial reports, queries or data access. Provides technical expertise to prepare, develop, produce and support various financial reports necessary for management decision making throughout the enterprise.



Acts as a subject matter expert for all internal clients in the enterprise towards identifying opportunities to streamline and improve the financial system; works with user groups to ascertain requirements to create functional design specifications for system processes, reporting or interfaces development or to support the design, implementation, upgrade or enhancement of the financial information system.



Leads (as assigned) user acceptance testing and integration testing for implementations, upgrades and enhancements as a key user resource including developing and executing test scenarios, providing analysis and thereby making recommendations. Addresses complex technical interfaces issues with systems that impact multiple entities and departments.



Reviews business processes and system work flows; develops and implements recommendations for improvements towards efficient and accurate processing of financial information. Prepares presentations and information for users on proposed financial system changes and delivers the presentations as assigned


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



The requirements of the role can be acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance or other related discipline with courses in information systems, plus five (5) years of progressive experience in a large organization with multiple financial systems.



OTHER REQUIREMENTS



Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures, theories, concepts, principles, and financial systems and integration concepts



Solid analytical skills to develop, monitor and track financial information systems



Solid interpersonal skills and business relationship management to interact & advise users of the financial system across the enterprise and to gather information with regards to creating functional design specifications for system processes



Solid time management and organizational skills to coordinate financial control and reporting activities for multiple projects



Solid MS Office working knowledge including solid Excel skills and PowerPoint skills



Strong written to be able to develop business and system process documentation and verbal communication skills for working with user groups to identify requirements to create functional design specifications.

Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

37.5 hours per week.


This is a full-time temporary position for twelve (12) months.

This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.


Rate of Pay


---------------




The salary for this position ranges from $82,40 - $123,600 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
