Senior Financial Analyst Sales & Revenue Finance

Job Description

As part of Sage's Commercial Finance team, you'll work closely with Finance Business Partners to support Sales and Sales Operations leadership. Together, you'll deliver financial insights that guide business performance and growth.
You'll analyze revenue performance and SaaS metrics to support data-driven decisions for Sales and Sales Operations leadership. The role offers strong visibility across the business, exposure to senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a global SaaS organization.
Location: Hybrid; 3 days per week (Tues, Wed, Thurs) from our Toronto Office and 2 days from home (Mondays & Fridays)
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a related Finance role.
  • Experience working within a SaaS or subscription-based revenue model (preferred)
  • Understanding of P&L management and revenue recognition principles under IFRS and/or GAAP.
  • Proven experience in financial data modeling and variance analysis, using insights to explain business performance, support forecasting, and guide decisions
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas.
  • Proficiency and hands-on experience with enterprise financial systems (e.g. HFM, Adaptive, Office Connect, SAP Fusion, Sage Intacct) and Salesforce and Power BI for analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement and data accuracy.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills; able to partner effectively with Finance Business Partners, Commercial/Sales Leaderships and Sales Operations teams
  • Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to present findings and influence decisions across different stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Finance Business Partners, Commercial Operations, and Sales leadership to develop accurate and timely budgets and forecasts that align business goals with financial targets.
  • Support the month-end close process in collaboration with the Accounting team, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of revenue recognition.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reporting of Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) across product lines, improving the quality and consistency of financial data.
  • Conduct monthly variance analysis on Revenue and ARR performance versus budget and forecast, providing clear insights into business drivers and trends.
  • Build and maintain KPI dashboards that deliver meaningful financial insights and highlight key performance trends, advising stakeholders on opportunities and risks.
  • Develop and enhance financial models that integrate multiple data sources to support decision-making across Sales and Finance teams.
  • Prepare and maintain P&L reporting, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with internal standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with Finance Business Partners and cross-functional teams to ensure financial processes operate efficiently and comply with internal governance and external requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen forecasting, budgeting, and reporting accuracy.
  • Utilize and continuously master financial systems and tools used across the Commercial Finance and Group Reporting teams.
  • Provide proactive financial analysis and guidance, establishing yourself as a trusted resource to the business and Finance leadership.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, education, and experience. Certain provinces in Canada require job postings to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range applicable to the role. For this role, in those locations, the target base salary range for new hires is C$100,000 to C$125,000. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in a bonus plan (15%) based on company and individual performance. Our talent acquisition team will provide specific opportunities on our bonus or incentive programs. The range listed is just one component of the Sage total compensation package.
