MDA is seeking a Financial Analyst - Program Finance to join our dynamic Team located in Montreal.
Role:
The Financial Analyst, Program Finance assists in the preparation and consolidation of timely and accurate monthly forecasts, budgets and strategic plan for Satellite Systems. Once these activities are completed, financial performance monitoring and evaluation are required.
Tasks:

• Prepares, coordinates and oversees the approval of new capital expenditures and new technology investments including adherence to Company Policy, Authority Matrix and applicable IFRS requirements. The Planning process includes, analysis, interdepartmental liaison, coordination of management reviews and finalization process of monthly forecast, annual operating plan, reporting to our parent company.
• Prepares monthly reports to explain variances vs actuals
• Manage the estimation for % of completion process for key cost elements (ie subcontract costs) for revenue recognition.
• Provides financial support to the organization in relation to government assistance, including the preparation/submission of business cases to obtain additional funding and audit support for claims submitted
• Prepares and coordinates other Corporate required submissions such as; the annual insurance renewal package and responds to any other insurance related questions (liaison with Program Managers)
• Performs ad-hoc financial analysis and modeling as required
• Acts as delegate to Manager, Program Finance in his/her absence

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years related financial planning and analysis experience, preferably in the aerospace industry
• Must be able to analyse and understand the operations, as well as the key drivers of the business
• Requires knowledge of IFRS, cost management, financial planning and analysis models
• Must function well independently with minimal supervision
• Effective problem-solving capabilities
• Must demonstrate timeliness, detail and deadline-orientation
• Must be PC-literate, with a concentration on spreadsheets, modelling and graphic software
• CPA designation

Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
