This is a new exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A. in this role you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing various P&L lines on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. In addition, this role will be required to provide analysis and support for senior executive requests. An in-depth knowledge and passion for analysis will be key success factors for this role.

  • Supports the preparation of the annual budget. Builds appropriate Prophix input templates, schedules and workflows. Consolidates and reviews corporate budget and prepares P&L analysis models.
  • Performs full P&L Variance Analysis and build appropriate models to assist with analysis and reporting on strategic initiatives on all components of EBITDA.
  • Solicits input from business units to provide financial and business explanation for variances. Consolidates financial and business unit explanations into CSG package.
  • Supports and reviews the monthly and quarterly forecasts. Consolidate forecast updates and provide pro forma forecast P&L for quarter and full year.
  • Consolidate monthly operating results of the different business components and Prepare the monthly reporting packages
  • Ensures that meaningful analysis and reports are prepared to support various levels for reviews and presentations for various Board of Director's meetings.
  • Uses knowledge of business to build analysis models and framework to review business strategy effectiveness and impact on profit.
  • Maintain and/or develop financial models and seek continuous improvement that would provide insight into sales, gross profit, contribution margin and EBITDA results.
  • Consults with business partners on financial analysis models and processes and foster strong working relationships across the divisional businesses, and work proactively to identify opportunities for finance to act as a strategic business partner
  • Please note this is a Hybrid Position (2 days working in our Brampton office)
Qualifications
  • University Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance and/or Accounting
  • Completed Accounting designation (CPA CGA, CMA, CA)
  • MBA is considered an asset
  • 4+ years of work experience in a finance-related field such as corporate finance, FP&A analyst, consulting is required
  • Solid understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statements).
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically with Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with BI Tools such as Prophix and Qlik Sense an asset.
  • Knowledge of retail industry is a definite asset
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organization, time management and multi-tasking skills, and work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and recommendations while considering viewpoint of all stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and inquiry skills to understand operational processes and constraints
