Reporting to the Manager of Technology Finance, the Sr Financial Analyst will perform a variety of financial activities for the Technology Function, including; process improvements, building financial models, assisting with financial planning, performing research and analysis, preparing reports, identifying and tracking cost optimization opportunities, and assisting with business case development for strategic Technology initiatives and value tracking. This role will be based out of our Florenceville, NB office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process Improvements within Technology Finance
  • Analyze current processes
  • Compare against industry best practices
  • Identify recommended processes & justification
  • Drive the implementation of the changes (including training & post implementation follow-up)
  • Financial Reporting
  • Prepare, analyze, and follow up on Regional & Shadow Technology Costs (Budget, Actual, forecasts, and Variances)
  • Forecast and track prepaid spending and maintain amortization schedules
  • Build financial reports/models to provide insights for decision making
  • Prepare and Analyze Technology monthly financial statements (c/w variance analysis and explanations)
  • Key driver of Cost optimization within the Technology Function
  • Develop a solution for tracking cost optimization activities (planned and actual)
  • Develop reporting to track Technology initiated cost savings/value added initiatives
  • Identify Tax credit opportunities (i.e. SRED) and assist with gathering information
  • Identify Cost Optimization opportunities and drive the realization of those initiatives
  • Contract management activities
  • Provide a financial review of contracts ensuring optimization of company cash preservation
  • Provide input/guidance on contract renewals
  • Perform contract audits
  • Maintain Contract database
  • Support Business Case development for key strategic technology initiatives
  • Build a Business Case Template & Process
  • Communicate and train technology & business users on how to complete the template
  • Ensure adherence to the process
  • Provide Financial input for business cases (such as cost information)
  • Create Financial models and value capture templates to track initiative benefits
  • Post-project value realization follow up
  • Create reports to track return on investments as required
  • Review accounting transactions for accuracy and completeness of the information and take corrective action to resolve issues
  • Review Technology Finance processes from end-to-end to identify and address inefficiencies
  • Develop and maintain an Asset Management database to track software licenses and cloud solutions
  • Ensure the database is accurate and up to date
  • Project work as required
KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA designation are desired
  • Background in finance/accounting/operations and other related business or technical disciplines.
  • Business minded with solid financial, analytical, and business problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite of tools is necessary and exposure to SAP is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong analytical ability required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a requirement.
  • Ability to adapt easily to change and forward-thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently, function effectively under time constraints and multitask based on the nature of the work.
