We understand that fostering a diverse and inclusive environment is critical for the success of our business, and we actively work towards it every day.We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting, to join our Finance department to support and execute on Financial Reporting needs and Finance projects related to complex transactions and business initiatives. This will require flexibility, technical accounting skills and the ability to work with many stakeholders throughout the business.As a Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting:HERE\xe2\x80\x99S HOW YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Perform and interpret detailed monthly variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement line items at the subsidiary and consolidated level.
  • Review and preparation of complex account reconciliations and journal entries including assisting with corporate consolidations and subsidiary eliminations.
  • Research complex accounting issues under IFRS and US GAAP reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements at the consolidated level for the Board of Directors and at the subsidiary level to satisfy provincial requirements.
  • Liaise with internal and external advisors to ensure satisfaction of business needs and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Communicate with influence and develop effective relationships with various internal stakeholder groups.
  • Support external vendors and third parties (consultants) and build relationships at the project level.
  • Provide coaching / guidance to team members within the Finance group on complex accounting issues and changing IFRS standards.
HERE\xe2\x80\x99S WHAT YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL BRING:
  • Completion of a University Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA designation or completion of CFE pending final qualification.
  • 4+ years of accounting or audit experience
  • Knowledge of insurance or real estate industry is an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US GAAP
  • Methodical and logical problem solver with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently on multiple tasks.
  • Proactive, with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Powerful collaboration skills and ability to build positive work relationships
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with the other Microsoft Office products.
