Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity We have an exciting Senior Financial Analyst opportunity on our Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting team. You will be accountable for the accuracy and analysis of financial statements and reports, accounting analysis of projects and business transactions to ensure compliance with IFRS standards, developing ad-hoc customized reporting, maintaining and improving financial systems and processes, and contributing to our growth. You will provide financial oversight and support to other departments including financial reporting and analysis, accounting policy, and development of reporting to support strategic decision-making. Reporting directly to the Manager of Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting, you will participate in the month-end process, reporting and analysis, financial systems management, and process implementation/improvement while working collaboratively with other teams. Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a Hybrid model. Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager, Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting. Your Moneris Career - What you\'ll do

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual period end journal entries and financial reporting including financial statement analysis
  • Perform ad-hoc financial and accounting analysis to respond to non-routine requests and queries
  • Maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to support financial reporting
  • Develop and implement custom reporting in the financial reporting system
  • Assist with the continuous improvement and automation of financial and management reporting process and system
  • Support with coordinating the external audit process and deliverables
  • Engage and work with the Technology and Project Teams in project scope reviews to qualify if project costs are capital or expense
  • Assist in the integration and streamline of systems and processes for acquired companies and subsidiaries
Your Moneris Career - What you bring
  • Working towards or has completed CPA designation
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
  • 2-5 years of experience with financial reporting and financial systems management
  • 2+ years of experience with financial analysis, financial reporting, and working in financial systems (Microsoft Dynamics D365)
  • 2+ years of experience working on complex accounting issues
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to details
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively with the team
  • Curious with a strong desire to learn
