We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst - External Reporting & Accounting based out of Markham, ON (Hybrid) or Calgary, AB (Hybrid). Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting and Accounting, this position will play a key role in external financial reporting for subsidiaries of Xplore under International Financial Reporting Standards (\xe2\x80\x9cIFRS\xe2\x80\x9d). This role will be responsible for the preparation of annual external financial statements and underlying working papers, and work closely with external auditors for the annual audits.

In order to achieve success, you should have experience with technical accounting under IFRS, external auditing experience from a public accounting firm, and exposure to the preparation of external financial statements. We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst - External Reporting & Accounting based out of Markham, ON (Hybrid) or Calgary, AB (Hybrid). Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting and Accounting, this position will play a key role in external financial reporting for subsidiaries of Xplore under International Financial Reporting Standards (\xe2\x80\x9cIFRS\xe2\x80\x9d). This role will be responsible for the preparation of annual external financial statements and underlying working papers, and work closely with external auditors for the annual audits.

Accuracy, attention to detail and effective time management and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential to fulfill this role.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare and draft external consolidated, combined and standalone IFRS compliant financial statements and note disclosures for subsidiaries of Xplore.
• Work closely with external auditors, finance team members and other departments during annual audits by external auditors.
• Assist with preparation of annual tax returns and tax provision calculations for subsidiaries of Xplore.
• Prepare consolidation entries required to appropriately account for transactions between subsidiaries and parent.
• Prepare certain month end reconciliations and entries for complex accounting transactions impacting Xplore subsidiaries.
• Prepare certain regulatory reporting and project level financial reporting required by third parties.
• Other ad-hoc analyses and tasks as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess:

• 3+ years of related experience
• Bachelor\'s degree in accounting or finance
• Professional accounting designation (CPA)
• Strong knowledge of IFRS
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and exposure to preparation of external financial statements
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities and tight deadlines
• Good verbal and written communications skills
• Background in or exposure to telecommunications industry considered an asset
