Job Description
This client is a fast growing Energy company that is relocating to Opal, Alberta (45 minute drive from Northern Edmonton). This role will offer 1 day working from home, a competitive salary and a travel allowance for the commute.Role Responsibilities
- Assist with the company\'s month-end close tasks which include preparing monthly working papers, reconciling balance sheet accounts and posting adjusting entries.
- Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statement packages for senior management and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and file applicable regulatory returns as needed (GST/HST, WCB, Royalties, etc.)
- Maintain customer and supplier databases, and related company information.
- Assist with the company\'s year-end financial statement review and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
- Support Finance Department projects
- A recognized Canadian Commerce or Accounting degree or equivalent
- A CPA designation or intention to acquire a CPA designation is essential
- Will have a minimum of 5 years working in full-cycle accounting processes
- Will have proven and progressive experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll
- Will have strong verbal and written communication skills along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Monday to Friday
- Bachelor\'s Degree (required)
- Accounting: 4 years (required)
- CPA required
