Senior Risk Assessor

Environmental Risk Assessment \xe2\x80\x93 Ontario

Pinchin is currently looking for a Senior Risk Assessor to join Pinchin\xe2\x80\x99s Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA) team.

The Senior Risk Assessor will provide senior technical leadership by advising on appropriate risk assessment approaches for various projects, ranging in scope from screening-level to detailed quantitative risk assessments, including soil vapour assessments. They will work closely with project managers involved in environmental site assessments, to facilitate the development of sampling plans that adequately support risk assessment work and will be responsible for senior review of proposals and risk assessment reports. They may also take on a senior project management or coordinator role for various projects, particularly more complex brownfield development projects or risk assessments for regulatory review, where ongoing project coordination and client liaison is critical to project success.

While the majority of risk assessment work conducted by Pinchin is currently in Ontario, the candidate may have the option to work remotely from anywhere in Canada.

What you will be doing at Pinchin

  • Senior technical advisor and project manager for human health and ecological risk assessment projects, in all regions of Canada, for projects ranging in scope from screening level assessments to complex regulatory submissions.
  • Ensure continued quality and execution of deliverables in a timely fashion.
  • Preparation and Senior review of proposals and reports, risk assessment feasibilities and peer reviews.
  • Act as an inter-office liaison and client contact for risk assessment projects.
  • Contribute to thought leadership within the ERA Practice, in addition to participating in collaborative projects with other practices within Pinchin, which may require risk-related input.
  • Perform any other job-related duties that may be assigned.
What you bring to the Pinchin team
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related discipline. A degree in biological sciences, toxicology or environmental studies is preferred.
  • QPRA designation in Ontario is required (If not already acquired, the candidate must qualify to obtain the designation).
  • Background in environmental toxicology is an asset.
  • Project Management experience in a consulting environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ontario Regulation 153/04 and willingness to learn the guidelines/regulations of other jurisdictions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams).
  • Positive, outgoing personality and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in groups, as required for complex projects.
