Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individual who is interested in advancing their career, to join our Environmental Risk Assessment and Toxicology team. Our team provides a wide range of environmental services in a variety of sectors, including mining, oil and gas, energy, manufacturing, government, insurance, and commercial real estate. As a Canadian leader in human health and ecological risk assessments, our group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in human health toxicology, ecotoxicology, contaminant fate and transport, risk assessment, risk management, site remediation, and risk communication.

Our team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects ranging from brownfield redevelopments to environmental assessments for large-scale developments, evaluating health and ecological concerns associated with contaminants in the environment. Stantec currently requires a Junior Risk Assessor to join our growing Environmental Risk Assessment and Toxicology Team in one of our Ontario offices (negotiable office location).

Your Key Responsibilities

Analysis and interpretation of field and analytical data, development of problem formulations, exposure modeling, and risk assessment report preparation in accordance with current provincial and federal requirements

Manipulation and maintenance of our contaminant transport models, toxicology databases, and other in-house risk assessment tools

Support proposals and business development

Meet client-based and regulatory reporting deadlines

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills (sample of writing may be requested)

Conscientious, detail oriented, and disciplined approach to projects

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills

Up to three years of related risk assessment and/or site assessment experience, although exceptional students in a risk assessment related field will be considered

Initiative in integrating creativity and efficiency in all work tasks

Education and Experience

A Bachelor\'s or Master\'s in one of the Environmental Sciences (Toxicology, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Hydrogeology, etc.), Environmental Engineering, or equivalent.
