GEMTEC is looking for experienced professionals to join our environmental team, and to play an integral role in our continued growth and development. GEMTEC has continued to see sustained growth in our environmental services group; and as a result, we have an immediate opening for a full-time Senior Environmental Engineer/Geoscientist operating out of our Dartmouth, NS office.

The opportunity involves working as part of a team of environmental engineers, scientists, and technologists on a variety of projects for a range of public and private sector clients. The ideal candidate will have a wide-range of experience, ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and possess strong technical, leadership, communication, and business development skills.
Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or geoscience from an accredited institution.
• Registered Professional (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo.) with significant experience in an environmental consulting setting.
• Ability to lead and develop a team of junior professionals.
• Ability to present technical information, both written and verbally, in a concise and professional manner.

Main Duties:

• Provide leadership and technical coaching for the more junior team members.
• Help to grow our environmental service line by identifying markets/potential clients, developing business, preparing responses to Requests for Proposals/Standing Offers, and preparing routine proposals.
• Client management.
• Project management including development and maintenance of project scopes, schedules and budgets, and coordination of project staff.
• Review of technical documents.
• Interpretation of environmental regulations and investigation results to successfully meet the client\xe2\x80\x99s requirements.
• Prepare reports as necessary to meet client needs.

Position:

• Full time salaried position.
• Providing proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 may be a condition of employment. Exceptions to this requirement will be considered on a case-by-case basis in relation to local health guidelines and/or client requirements/regulations.
• Must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
