AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to join our growing Environmental Remediation team in Calgary, AB.

This position is a full-time role and is expected to begin in October 2022.

:

  • Generally, requires multi-disciplinary knowledge.
  • Makes recommendations on work methods and procedures and technical innovations by devising practical and economical solutions to problems in own discipline.
  • Makes recommendations on research requests, objectives, priorities, and timing.
  • Assess need for change and recommends development of standards.
  • Assess work against standards, objectives and specifications.
  • Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies when working on unusually complex technical problems.
  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Develops solutions which are highly innovative. Assignments are often self-initiated.
  • Acts as advisor to management and clients.
  • Oversees the work of less experienced engineers.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering (Civil, Chemical, Environmental etc.) + 8 years of experience in remediation projects.
  • 4+ years of experience coordinating Phase I, II and III Environmental Site Assessments and Remediation.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Project Management experience highly desirable.
  • Register Environmental Engineer in Alberta (APEGA).
  • Ability to provide professional sign-off on remediation and/or reclamation reports according to the Alberta Joint Practice Standard (e.g., APEGA, AIA, ASPB, etc.)
  • Ability to apply environmental quality guidelines to data collected from various media and land uses.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong client management skills.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in building working relationships and participating in multidiscipline teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel and Word.
  • Can-do, positive attitude and an ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
