Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior English Tutor to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English literature and language, with the ability to inspire and engage students in their learning journey. This role involves developing comprehensive lesson plans, fostering a positive classroom environment, and assessing student progress to ensure academic success.

Duties

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons to K-12 intermediate and advanced students in private 1-on-1 classes or small group settings. Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth and development. Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance the overall educational experience and participate in professional development opportunities. Maintain an organized classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusivity, and a love for learning. Collaborate with the academic team to uphold teaching standards and improve outcomes.

Requirements

Master's degree or PhD in English Literature, Education, Linguistics, or related field.

Ontario Certified Teacher

(OCT) designation is an asset.

Minimum 3 years

of teaching experience, ideally within a private school or reputable tutoring company environment. Experience tutoring

AP (Advanced Placement) and IB (International Baccalaureate)

students is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage students effectively. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in lesson planning and assessment. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating initiative in individual responsibilities. A passion for literature and education, along with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students.
