Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals. This role involves working with students of various ages and skill levels, providing personalized instruction in a supportive and engaging environment.

Duties

Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to the individual needs of students. Assist students with homework, exam preparation, and skill development in subjects such as English, mathematics, and foreign languages. Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary to ensure understanding and retention of material. Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence. Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.

Experience

1+ years of tutoring or teaching experience in English (preferred) Strong knowledge of the

Ontario English curriculum

(Grades 6-12) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to explain concepts in a clear, engaging, and supportive manner Experience working with youth in educational settings is an asset Familiarity with special education approaches is a plus Comfort using technology for online tutoring sessions Passionate about helping students improve their language skills and build confidence

Monday to Friday Weekends as needed
