Senior Engineer & Engineering Systems Lead

On behalf of our client, Nordstrong Equipment Ltd, we are recruiting for a Senior Engineer who embodies a deep passion for leadership, technological advancements, and continuous growth. Reporting to the Assistant GM, this Senior Engineering position will be a driving force behind Nordstrong\'s high-performance engineering team.

In this role you will be pivotal in delivering unparalleled value and service excellence to their
business along with being the Engineering Lead for the integration of Nordstrong\'s Engineering systems with their ERP and CRM. If you are interested in playing a large role in fostering a synergistic relationship with customers, vendors and the Nordstrong team, this is an ideal role for you!

As the Senior Engineer you will:

  • Be a product expert on the design and application of bulk material handling equipment including screw conveyors, drag conveyors, bucket elevators, valves, gates, and belt conveyors.
  • Lead R&D initiatives to improve the performance and manufacturability of existing models
  • as well as the creation of new product families and models.
  • Champion the implementation of Design for Manufacturability across product families.
  • Develop and implement best practices for document control and drawing standards
  • for the Engineering team.
  • Be the engineering lead for the integration of Engineering\'s systems with business systems
  • such as ERP and CRM.
  • Liaise with Operations, Sales, and Estimating to ensure specifications are interpreted correctly.
  • Support the development of project schedules, budgets, and monitoring.
  • Provide support in determining costs and quantities based on customer needs.
  • Ensure quality control of drawings and models.
  • Apply engineering design best practices and communicate with peers.
  • Adhere to organizational regulations and provincial guidelines with a focus on
  • safety and best practices.
  • Stay current on industry-specific production trends, best practices, and technology.
You and Your Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, registered or eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM)
  • 10+ years of related experience in an engineering role with leadership experience
  • Proficient in SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Participated in the implementation of a PDM/PLM system.
  • Knowledge of CEMA standards, CSA standards
  • Understanding of manufacturing equipment including welding, fabrication, and power transmission design.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret customer specifications.
  • Proficient in all MS Office (primarily Excel & Word) applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to converse and collaborate with multiple departments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience.
  • Deep bias for data-driven decision making.
  • Must be able to travel within Canada and the US, hold a valid passport and driver\'s license.
