What you will do
Create detailed and accurate technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics using CAD software (Revit and AutoCAD), following industry and project specific standards and codes.
Collaborate with engineers, architects and project managers on drafting, designing, and managing construction projects from repairs to new construction developments.
Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure that designs are properly implemented and meet project requirements.
Maintain project documents, including design files, change orders, RFIs log, submittals and project schedules.
Participate in the creation of calculators to aid in the day-to-day design tasks.
Carry out field reviews and ensure general compliance with the construction documents.
Participate in quality control processes to ensure that designs meet project requirements and are completed on time and within budget.
Ensure a well established channel of communication between the clients and the team members.
What you will bring
An applied science, engineering or information technology program accredited at the technologist level by Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC) or equivalent.
Skilled with AutoCAD. Experience with Revit is a preference.
knowledge of BC codes, standards, and compliances
Solid understanding of wood-frame, concrete and steel structures and reading blueprints
Knowledge of design software such as ETABS, SAP2000 and/or iRobot
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, and the ability to present solutions in a logical and concise manner
