POSITION SUMMARY

The cosmetic industry is a dynamic, creative and exciting industry. This is a Senior Laboratory Technician position in Colour Cosmetic R&D Lab. The individual will support the development of new formulations, physical testing and sample preparation activities from bench to market. The successful candidate will be a competent individual contributor who can execute assigned work as well as able to plan own work supporting projects assigned.

THE ROLE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for conducting and managing multiple stability tests for a variety of projects - working independently with the ability to ask questions for clarification with issues that arise.
  • Assist Scientists by making lab scale batches and verifications, and preparing samples for testing.
  • Operate laboratory equipment, follow R&D procedures, and document experimental results.
  • Able to assist team members/management and support teams as needed.
  • Conducts and summarizes data from experiments. Communicates results to team members.
  • Recognizes and shares new approaches to drive lab efficiency and/or effectiveness.
  • Order laboratory supplies and maintain necessary inventory of chemicals and consumables.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, safety, and GMP.
Qualifications
  • College diploma in relevant scientific field and 1-2 years relevant experience or 5-10 years relevant experience + high school diploma.
  • Strong hands-on lab bench skills.
  • High proficiency in multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Prioritization and time management skills.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn the operation of scientific instruments and applicable software.
  • Fully proficient and experienced with Windows Office, Excel and Outlook and computer applications.
  • Light to medium lifting - pails and boxes 10kg or less.
  • May require long hours of standing when preparing and testing lab batches.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
