TYLin's Canada, Inc.'s office in Montreal, QC, is seeking a Senior CAD Technician to prepare CAD drawings for bridge projects in accordance with client's standards (e.g. MOTs in Canada and DOTs in the USA). The CAD Technician will also develop accurate 3D models of bridge components and assist with the development of department procedures as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develops CAD plans and details for various types of bridge structures.
  • Manages CAD deliverables on bridge projects and assists the PMs in preparation of tender documents.
  • Develops and expands company's expertise and skill in approved CAD applications.
  • Applies CAD expertise and skill in the development of detailed construction plans.
  • Develops structural details for bridge structures including steel, pre-stressed and reinforced concrete bridges.
  • Understands and masters the notions of the roadway geometry design.
  • Prepares as-built plans.
  • Maintains project electronic files and archives.
  • Provides guidance in CAD techniques and participates in training of other CAD technicians.
  • Other related tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • Requires a minimum of 10 years' experience working on bridge projects and demonstrated skills in creation of project plans.
  • A degree from an accredited College or Institute is preferred.
  • Must have skills with AutoCAD and MicroStation associated with the production of bridge structural plans.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam, MS Office, 3D and Imaging software, as well as computer skills such as networking, hardware/software installations, configurations, and troubleshooting is desired.
  • Ability to create 3D modeling with BIM tools (Revit, Civil 3D, or Tekla) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Rhino 3D and Grasshopper and ability to create 3D renderings of structures is desired.
  • Knowledge of French language and ability to prepare drawings in French is an asset.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team of CAD technicians.
  • Ability to develop CAD standards and templates.
