As the Senior Director of Planning, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of the planning function within the Loblaw Brands and Marketing organizations. You will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of these organizations by developing and implementing effective planning strategies, ensuring optimal resource allocation, and driving operational excellence. Your exceptional leadership skills, communication, influence, critical thinking, and ability to navigate a matrix organization and sophisticated business challenges will be key to your success in this role.

The Senior Director Planning will lead teams covering three functions of planning for the Loblaw Brands and Marketing team; Project Management (project lead high profile projects for the functions), Program Management (lead our annual Control Brand Campaigns that are driven across the Enterprise), and Planning (develop all frameworks, timelines etc. that will keep both functions on track for all key business deliverables). You will constantly seek opportunities for improvements in planning and how our functions operate in order to drive agility and efficiency.

What you\'ll do:

Drive the Loblaw Brands and Marketing Annual Planning Cycle across all partners and in partnership with the other business units in the Enterprise.

Lead the development of operational plans and project management to ensure effective execution of the Marketing and Loblaw Brands strategic objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish clear goals, timelines, and performance indicators. Monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely and successful project completion.

Lead key business processes through the Loblaw Brands product life cycle to enable the successful execution of product strategies \xe2\x80\x93 from initial Stage Gate cases and quarterly product plan reviews, to post launch management.

Support executive team through building frameworks that will support best in class execution across product development and marketing.

Support leadership team with business updates & eventing to engage and educate internal and external partners through compelling narratives.

Establish resilient planning processes to improve efficiency and increase automation where possible.

Be an inspiring leader while building a high-performance team that is agile in nature.

Build and lead a complementary team that champions a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging.

What you bring:

University degree preferably in a business field or equivalent experience.

10+ years management experience.

Self-starter, problem solver, and outstanding communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally.

Strategic planning experience (Annual Planning is a plus) at the executive level.

Successful track record of leading cross-functional critical initiatives from concept to completion.

Strong leadership capabilities and proven track record to lead high-functioning teams.

Excellent social skills, including the ability to deliver high-impact presentations on sophisticated topics to leaders at all levels.

Ability to summarize complex data, build consensus and influence all levels of leadership to align on strategic focus.

A daring spirit, love retail, thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment, and have forged positive relationships across various teams in your career.

Shown abilities to partner with and exercise influence, persuade and/or negotiate with other Senior level colleagues across the organization

Ability to plan and lead priorities, anticipate challenges, collaborate across the business, communicate persuasively, analyze, and develop efficient processes is critical.

Strong business acumen and understanding of retail, marketing, and private labels

Effective people leadership skills (coaching, leading performance, etc.)
