Position Summary:

The Senior Director of Warehouse is responsible for Canada Warehouse operations, supply chain management and inventory control at Gordon Food Service. Key relationships include those with Canada and NA leadership and our Real Estate Partner (Pinnacle). Engages with customers, suppliers, and industry groups as required to meet organizational goals.

Essential Functions:

Leads Warehouse Operations team including Directors of warehouse and department support roles.

Directs Warehouse and Supply Chain development to align with divisional/corporate goals. Approves new and revised scorecard targets and KPI\xe2\x80\x99s.

Establishes the strategic plans and goals for DNP

Continually monitors and improves various systems that enable high performance of operations teams

Ensures key operations systems are consistently applied and followed throughout divisions for maximum impact

Directly involved in the development and succession planning efforts of current and future Director level leaders

Implements changes that support new acquisitions, new builds, changes in business, etc.

Provides direction and approval on decisions that broadly impact operations pay, incentives, benefits and programs

Manages Warehouse and Supply Chain AOP and LRP to ensure alignment with divisional and company goals

Recommends strategies and approves major capital expenditures (IE: DC, investments in technology, equipment, etc)

Assures Operations \xe2\x80\x9cBest Practices\xe2\x80\x9d aligned with internal / external requirements

Reviews and approves facility development strategy and associated projects

Approves director level hires in his/her functional area

Approves SCM business / facility technology direction and tool selection

Participates in the evaluation of distribution network plan and strategy

Responsible for the Warehouse business change / project development processes

Strategic Planning: Helping DC develop and execute strategies

Process Optimization: Helping DC continuously improve warehouse processes to maximize efficiencies

Resource Allocation: Allocating of labour and equipment to meet demand and maintain cost control

Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance to safety protocols for employee and product

Technology integration: Implement and manage current and new technology

Supplier / Vendor relationship: Maintain relationships to ensure timely execution of projects and cost control

Supports key business strategies as assigned.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Functional - knowledgeable in supply chain field - industry, compliance, equipment, people, process, and technology

Mathematical - practical mathematical skills to include addition, subtraction, division, multiplication

Reasoning - related skills of comparing, classifying, innovating, analyzing, coordinating, copying, etc.

Communication - reading (standard and technical), business writing, speaking (basic, conversational, public speaking.).

Human Relations - motivating, teamwork, coaching, interactions with others, relationship building

Self Management - self direction, ability to prioritize, strong organizational skills , challenging workload

Maintains appropriate business experience and knowledge to make good transformation decisions

Equipment / Tools / Technology:

Specific understanding of Microsoft office suite, google applications, email, and internet

Workflow software applications

Knowledge of applicable computer and office equipment (laptop, PC, fax, phone, copier, etc.)

Working knowledge of technology used in supported field(s) and processes

Skilled in spreadsheet analysis, business writing, and presentation development

Educational & Experience Requirements:

Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent managerial field experience required

Five years of previous Director level experience and ten years experience in Supply Chain Management/Warehouse related field.

In lieu of the specified education and experience requirements, a proven capability to perform the essential functions of the job, as demonstrated by an equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant work experience may be considered.

Note: This position may require up to 50% travel.
