Leader Name: Managing Director, Digital Marketing Your Primary Focus as Senior Digital Marketing Strategist The Senior Digital Marketing strategist is accountable for supporting the assigned squad(s) with digital marketing strategies and supporting tactics and action plans that align with ATB’s Business Wealth or Everyday goals. As part of a squad or squads, you help make it possible for clients with confidence based on sound advice, expertise and solutions. Also as a member of the digital centre of expertise (DCoE), you will work closely with the digital content producer, email and marketing automation strategists, social media and website strategist, SEO experts and creative resources to develop strong performing and measurable digital marketing tactics. Your objective is to support all the digital marketing needs for your squad, through planning and execution by your teammates in the DCoE. Specific Accountabilities:

  • Provide strategic and tactical digital marketing recommendations for squad work prioritized by the squad.
  • Be an active and equal partner participating in the assigned squad making contributions that span strategy to execution and measurement.
  • Prioritize and execute the digital work to be done based on a solid understanding of squad and business priorities and the complexity of incoming projects.
  • Develop and evolve the digital strategy and experience (content, distribution, demand, development, organic & paid search) to achieve brand objectives, business goals and consumer needs.
  • Responsible for generating ideas and creating customized strategies to help effectively reach target audiences online to achieve business and campaign goals.
  • Develop and orchestrate (via DCoE) a content marketing plan aligned with business and campaign goals.
  • Use CRM and marketing automation tools to understand and nurture prospects and clients based on individual wants and needs to influence acquisition, retention and loyalty objectives.
  • Deep understanding and champion Inbound and Account Based Marketing (ABM) approaches. Responsible for delivery of the digital strategy, nurture path or digital journey to meet marketing objectives across channels.
  • Inform the media buy optimization process in collaboration with the market planner and others, ensuring that the rationale and actions are clearly aligned with digital strategy and managed with the squad.
Develop and lead digital project work in partnership with specialists and experts in the DCoE
  • Lead work within the assigned squad either on your own or in partnership with other digital marketing strategists for the squad on all digital requests, understanding what needs to be set up as a project with the DCoE.
  • Partner closely with the Web Experience Manager and Email Marketing Manager to build digital experiences and recommendations around landing pages, campaign pages, product pages, emails etc.
  • Take on tasks, being hands on when the request is simple and straightforward enough and doesn’t require a full on effort by the DCoE.
  • Not responsible for general campaign digital display ad creation, media buy and management, but closely involved when this includes advertisements pointing to content marketing or activities driving funnel and conversion experiences and landing pages.
  • In partnership with the Market Planner and working closely with our external media partner, create strong, compelling and strategic media recommendations on how digital channels can be used to integrate the client journey; be able to define the role of digital in supporting objectives.
  • Bring digital, data and technology innovation solutions to the squad.
  • Help design the measurement framework for any successful digital initiative, KPIs based on desired outcome (s). Align closely with the Digital Data Analysts to define, measure and report on KPIs.
Leadership and Marketing Expertise: As a senior member of the marketing team you will mentor and coach team members and be a key subject matter expert in the organization
  • Champion the ATB brand to ensure our Differentiated Experience is inexplicably built into all initiatives and strategies.
  • Be looked upon as a digital marketing expert with the Reputation and Brand team and having deep knowledge of digital marketing best practices that you are able to articulate and bring to life through your work.
  • Provide informal direction, leadership and mentoring to Digital Marketing Strategist colleagues as well as other members of the DCoE and assigned squad.
  • Be capable of formally leading Digital Marketing Strategists (or other assigned team members) and providing effective coaching and mentoring.
  • Successfully lead projects or initiatives to completion that involve active participation from numerous stakeholders across the organization.
  • Stay on top of all digital marketing trends as a generalist, including content marketing, digital advertising, inbound strategy, social media, webinars, SEM, SEO, marketing automation and email, ABM (when relevant), web strategy and paid search. Provide insights to R&B on emerging media and new, digital opportunities and be seen as a subject matter expert.
Requirements Competencies & Skill Sets:
  • Graduate or undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing or a related field.
  • 5+ years B2B marketing experience with preference given to candidates with experience in Account Based Marketing
  • Minimum 8-15 years experience in Marketing with a strong background in digital marketing.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams that include writers, designers, researchers/analysts, marketing experts, and subject matter experts
  • Exceptional collaboration, and communication skills
  • Creative thinker but grounded in lots of common sense
  • Ability to build consensus and influence a successful campaign or program knowing when and how to use various digital marketing tools
  • Strong knowledge of SEO and SEM
  • Outstanding organization skills, with the ability to project manage schedules, deadlines, contributors and stakeholders for multiple projects at once
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented and very attentive to detail
  • Naturally inquisitive and always the desire to grow, learn and push boundaries of what content can do
  • Financial services experience is an asset
  • Experience with agile-development environments is an asset
  • Tools include Episerver, Hubspot, Clickmeeting, Miro, Buzzsumo, SiteImprove, Google Analytics, GSuite, Ion Interactive and more
