The impact you\'ll make

As a part of the Creative Services Team, the Senior Digital content Writer reports to the Copy & Content Manager and is responsible for writing and editing creative, compelling, and engaging marketing copy that is optimized for ecommerce and digital channels. Additionally, they will provide strategic copy direction and work cross-functionally to meet business objectives, enhancing customer experience to drive sales and engagement, with experimentation top of mind. They will also act as a mentor to the Copywriters on the team. This role will predominantly support the Online Grocery assortment.

What you\'ll do

  • Collaborate with Design and Marketing teams to create compelling content that supports overall digital goals and drives strong online brand identity and experience. Provide multiple options and quick solutions to meet changing business needs. Such content will be created for various communication channels, which could include (but is not limited to):
  • Marketing emails
  • Onsite marketing creative
  • Digital advertisements
  • Social media marketing
  • Apps and App Store descriptions
  • Print advertising
  • Define and own the voice and messaging for PC Express across all marketing channels (onsite, in app, emails, ads, print, and large-scale out-of-home format), serving as a brand advocate and gatekeeper for how we speak to our customers in all advertising and communication copy.
  • Engage and participate in Growth Marketing ceremonies such as daily stand-up, daily team time, sprint planning, ideation sessions, backlog grooming, sprint review.
  • Manage process issues with teams to ensure timelines are met and the delivery of information is efficient. Anticipate obstacles or risks for deadlines and determine course of action to mitigate risk.
  • Participate in and contribute to creative meetings and design reviews by providing clear objectives and context setting.
  • Engage with competitive research as a part of creative process. Audit competitors occasionally to stay up to date with market trends.
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to collaborate with immediate team, cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with multiple stakeholders to define the copywriting guidelines that reflect Loblaw brand standards
  • Advocate for the customer by regularly making suggestions on the customer journey and actively using customer data and insights to inform work.
  • Coordinate copy translation and approvals from appropriate departments
  • Actively ensure that Testing, SEO and Accessibility issues are always top of mind for Copy & Content Team.
  • Work with Loblaw legal departments where applicable
  • Support copy needs for other lines of business as needed
Does this sound like you?
  • Exceptional English creative writing and editing skills
  • Previous copywriting experience in retail, online, or ecommerce (please provide link to portfolio)
  • Strong conceptual thinking
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take direction and critique
  • Ability to understand/apply/maintain brand tone of voice
  • Ability to write in multiple voices, and work across multiple brands concurrently
  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications or related discipline an asset
  • Experience working in an agile environment an asset
  • Bilingual (English/French) an asset (but not mandatory)
