Job Title Senior Derivative Analyst



What is the opportunity?

As a Senior Analyst in the Alternative Investments team, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing the accounting of all transactions and assisting with the daily, monthly and annual administration of derivatives, as well as highly complex portfolios that deal in hedge and mutual funds. You will have familiarity with private equities, private debt, real estate and infrastructure will be an asset. You will also be responsible for supporting your colleagues with new initiatives and project management. In this role, you will collaborate with other internal operations, client investment teams and external service providers.

What will you do?

  • Performs day to day processing, analysis, and reconciliation of Alternative products, including a variety of Derivatives products
  • Calculate mark to market (MTM) for all open positions and posting to respective reporting platforms
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of Reporting, and to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of accounting for performance and exposure analysis
  • Performs Accounting functions including updating the general ledger, analysis of profit and loss (P&L) and regulatory break clearance
  • Answer all client inquiries as deemed experts in the field, providing guidance to internal and external parties in understanding AIS trade and reporting workflows, products and services offered
  • Accountable for ongoing client satisfaction as client service and sales support plays a fundamental role in our team
  • Identify potential risks to the business unit\xe2\x80\x99s operations and monthly reporting deadlines; exploring and implementing new processes to improve controls, trade and reporting efficiencies
  • Perform ad hoc requests when directed by the manager, to become a SME in internal process.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • University degree in Business, Finance or Mathematics
  • 2-3 years of experience in the financial industry managing financial and regulatory reporting for clients
  • Previous derivative experience or advanced Excel skills are fundamental
  • Time management under pressure
  • Experience with automation and efficiency programs
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills and ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Nice-to-have
  • CFA, CAIA, CPA
  • Industry related courses/designations
