Our Data Science team is growing, and we are seeking top talent for our insights & operations vertical. As an experienced Qlik Sense specialist, you will be accountable for crafting and developing Qlik Sense data models and dashboards to transform data through intuitive dashboard design, impactful insights, and data visualizations.

We\'re looking for someone with wide experience in Qlik Sense design and development, a solid understanding of BI/IT, and an eye for business. A key responsibility is collaborating effectively between partners to deliver the best user experience and insights to support decision-making. In addition, the ideal candidate will also have extensive knowledge of enterprise data models and utilization of relational and dimensional data sources in Qlik Sense.

The candidate will proactively understand business needs, coordinate, and construct abstract requirements, and provide valuable, concrete business solutions using technology. The individual is required to have a high level of technical skills, system knowledge and business analytical skills to assimilate disparate information from various systems/applications into a cohesive MI report/ dashboard.

What you\'ll do:

Design, develop, and test Qlik Sense scripts to import data from source systems

Build, support and enhance Business Intelligence reports, dashboards, and interactive tools to meet business needs and requirements leveraging common definitions, consistent toolsets, and development methodology

Extract, transform and load data from several sources into optimized, reusable Qlik Sense data sets (QVDs) for business users to self-serve their own Qlik Sense applications

Full understanding of the processes of data quality, data cleansing and data transformation

Define and prototype Qlik Sense applications using Agile methodology

Provide input to propose, evaluate and select appropriate design alternatives which meet business needs and are consistent with Aviva\'s standards and processes

Sustain, run, and distribute reports regularly; build reports and provide ad-hoc data and reports to the business; respond to report intakes and provide end-user training on MI reports

Recommend and implement actions to improve operational and reporting efficiencies to maintain a high level of MI reporting quality

Perform quality coding to business and technical specifications

What you\'ll bring:

Hands-on professional with detailed knowledge of scripting, data source integration and sophisticated GUI development in Qlik Sense

Experience with developing Qlik Sense mashups and extensions using JavaScript and D3

Experience in sourcing data from disparate systems with a good understanding of their Data Models and ETL procedures

Full understanding of the processes of data quality, data cleansing and data transformation

Solid grasp of Qlik Sense server architecture and building apps applying business rules and data validations

A drive for results and an ability to be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative and adjust to shifting priorities to meet deadlines

Familiarity with Qlik Sense Cloud, Qlik Administration, Mobile and Nprinting

Previous P&C industry knowledge would be an asset

Bachelor\'s degree (Computer Science, Mathematics or Business Admin.) is preferable

4+ years in Business Intelligence Analytics or Reporting

4+ years of working experience with the Business Objects tool suite (or similar BI tools)

2+ years of working experience with databases (MS SQL and/or DB2 \xe2\x80\x93or similar), data modelling (nice to have), database concepts, design, and structures.

Strong business knowledge and technical skills to deliver optimal, appropriate and accurate information to the business using a variety of reporting tools (Qlik, Business Objects, SQL)

Strong capability in Microsoft Excel is an asset

Self-starter and proactive attitude with capability to effectively execute end-to-end deliverables.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience communicating at all levels.

Proven ability to embrace change, be highly adaptable and flexible, decisive and display excellent judgment

Qlik Sense certification is preferred
