Job Description


The Senior Data Analyst position is an opportunity for an experienced analytics professional to be a key contributor to the Data Analytics practice at ESC. This role leverages our vast claims data to create meaningful reports that deliver insights to help make better business decisions. These reports capture, consolidate, and visualize information to foster understanding of the past, present, and likely future business. The Senior Data Analyst combines the business acumen with technical skills in order to optimize business results and improve customer outcomes.

Please note, this is a 12 month contract for maternity leave coverage.

Essential Functions:

Partner with business teams and clients to identify opportunities for reporting and data insights

Gather business needs, perform data analysis and recommend benchmarks/performance measures to client departments

Support evolution of data analytics by introducing best practices and data governance protocols

Uncover stories in the data that will lead to decisions and actions

Manipulate and combine a variety of data sources using Python/SQL to create analytical solutions to business problems

Create report outputs, visualizations and slide decks that reflect the objectives, needs and analytical knowledge of the end user

Monitor and analyze performance reports to identify areas of risk, trends and options for improvement through the use of data analytics

Bridge gap between analytics and business teams by gathering requirements, creating user stories and providing SME input

Qualifications:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Math, Engineering or Business background

Knowledge of the Pharmacy or Group Health Benefits (pharmacy, dental, other health) industry preferred

3-6 years of analytics experience, including demonstrated ability to ability to undertake manage analytics research projects

Proficient knowledge of SQL to support business via queries and thorough data validation; Python and SSIS experience is a bonus

Experience translating business needs into practical applications and solutions

Ability to effectively communicate complex analytical solutions to non-technical audiences

Track record of solving problems without having a prescribed process

High levels of initiative, self-management and prioritization skills

Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
