The Senior Credit Analyst, Franchise Banking supports the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s franchise programs with franchisors that are considered large commercial or junior corporate clients, spanning all industry sectors with the portfolio of franchise customers domiciled in both Small Business and Commercial segments. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Credit Management & Operations.
The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for:
  • Completing both new and annual program credit reviews for the more complex franchise files, structuring programs to reflect Bank lending requirements (both Small Business and Commercial) and risk appetite as well as customer and franchisor needs.
  • Interprets internal/external business challenges and the industry environment and recommends course of action and best practices to improve products, processes or services.
  • Monitoring and control of the franchise portfolio, including monitoring negative trends in the portfolio and with specific franchise systems, providing risk analysis and making recommendations for the status of the systems.
  • Maintaining and updating the franchise database and producing regular reporting.
  • Maintaining and updating the franchise intranet content in a timely manner.
  • Referring franchisees to the appropriate channels and assisting branches in resolving franchisee issues primarily via generic inbox support.
  • Working directly with franchisors to resolve their queries and providing them with reporting as necessary.
  • Acting as a reference point to Small Business Credit Centers & Retail Risk Management for Small Business credit applications and to CCRM for Commercial credit applications.
  • Participating in franchisor meetings and assisting the Origination Team in cross-selling the full range of products and services to existing and new franchisors.
  • Develop/implement all aspects of various strategic initiatives including but not limited to the submission and implementation of new policies, programs, franchisee promotions and projects within the Franchise Banking Group.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners, acting as a subject matter expert in the franchise segment.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal /external business partners and use these networks to provide specialized subject matter expertise and proactively manage customer relationships, including contributing to the identification and effective facilitation of reciprocal referrals
  • Provide guidance, assistance and direction to others on the team.
  • Deliver overall consistent and timely service to internal and external business partners.
Requirements
Undergraduate degree and/or 7+ years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and experience as a Credit Analyst or Account Manager in Commercial Banking is essential as franchise banking submissions and processes align closely to Commercial Credit submissions (including Credit Lens inputs and analysis using the DIG non-cyclical model).
  • Small Business Banking credit experience would be an asset
  • Expert analytical and problem solving skills for complex files.
  • Individual must be extremely organized and pay close attention to detail
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter and have the ability to work independently with minimal management guidance and supervision as well as collaboratively in a team
  • Results oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proficiency with MS PowerPoint, Excel, MS Word and other systems commonly used in Commercial Banking.
CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation would also be an asset. Hours
