Location: Multimatic Niche Vehicles NA, Newmarket, Ontario, Canada *(Interview process will occur at company\xe2\x80\x99s Markham facility; first few weeks may be out of Markham facility as well)* Position Overview: Multimatic Niche Vehicles North America (MNVNA) is the exclusive production facility of the Ford GT Mk IV supercar and the Ford Bronco DR racing truck. Multimatic Niche Vehicles North America (MNVNA) is seeking to recruit a Senior Costing Analyst that will provide financial insight, analysis, and planning to support decision making and strategic initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The analyst will play a pivotal role in the financial oversight as MNVNA\xe2\x80\x99s next program is set up. The emphasis on the role is on cost management, both cost of goods sold, as well as other costs (freight and other variable costs, labour, overhead, S&A, capital, etc.) Must have strong accounting & financial technical expertise and an understanding of business processes and operations. Experience managing a bill of materials is required. Automotive enthusiasts encouraged.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage (create, update, track, administer, monitor, etc.) the various bills of materials of the manufactured goods, including appropriate allocations (labour, overhead, etc.)
  • Manage the financial aspect of the quality deductions process
  • Manage the financial aspect of the shipping chargebacks/charge passthroughs process
  • Work with the logistics and materials team to optimize freight spend and inventory management
  • Manage administration of capital assets of the division, including purchases tracking, reconciliations, and depreciation; as well as working with senior team members on preparation of capital asset proposals
  • Administer prepaid expenses, including reconciliations
  • Administer various other expenses (labour, overhead, S&A, other expenses)
  • Identify cost savings opportunities (including net reductions through offsetting revenue generation, government grants and/or other methods)
  • Analyze and explain variances to divisional management
  • Perform various reconciliations, both ad hoc and recurring, especially those that impact cost accounts (ex. Intercompany purchases)
  • Prepare regular weekly and monthly internal reports for the Controller, including the upper management team
  • Prepare financial analysis on current operations and on prospective future projects
  • Effectively utilize the junior analyst as an assistant, and coach the junior analyst as appropriate
  • Assist in preparation of month-end financial reporting and play a key role in month end close
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget and quarterly reforecast
  • Assist with some banking activities
  • Aid in processing vendor payments as required
  • Coordinate with vendors on issues as required
  • Liaise with other departments for issue resolution (Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Receiving)
  • Perform other analytical, financial, and accounting related duties, as required
Education, Skills & Experience
  • University degree in a relevant discipline (finance, accounting, commerce, etc.)
  • CPA or other relevant professional accounting/financial designation is a valuable asset
  • 2+ years of related costing/financial analysis/audit experience REQUIRED
    • Costing, manufacturing and/or bill of material management experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • SAP knowledge REQUIRED
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for cars/the automotive industry a valuable asset
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to lead a project through team activities, including working cross functionally
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Detailed understanding of general custom manufacturing processes an asset
  • In-depth knowledge of computer systems
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks
  • Ability to make presentations in front of a group
  • Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
