The Office of the Vice-President, International and Francophonie oversees the design, coordination and implementation of internationalization strategies across uOttawa. This includes establishing international private and public sector partnerships, supporting the internationalization of research and curricula, and expanding international opportunities for the uOttawa community. The Office is also mandated to carry the University\'s vision for the Francophonie and to promote its leadership role within the Ontario, Canadian and international Francophonie and its bodies, as set out in the University\'s new strategic plan, Transformation 2030.*This position may be eligible for a telework arrangement.Position purpose:Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Mobility , conducts logistic activities associated with all operations involved in managing student mobility program files. In charge of communicating information about student mobility programs to partners and students taking part in an exchange at the University of Ottawa. Finds solutions to special requests and capitalizes on opportunities to review, develop and implement processes to ensure that operations run efficiently.In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinates the management and implementation of the student exchange program and related processes, which includes evaluating applications, communicating with academic units and faculties to approve course selections and exceptions, and welcoming and supporting students. Works in close partnership with all faculties, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, to effectively manage processes.
  • Designs orientation sessions that aim to inform and advise students on the specifics of exchange programs, eligibility criteria, the application process and all other aspects of the program, thus providing them with quality services and the best possible experience.
  • Plans processes by anticipating, analyzing and interpreting student mobility program requirements. In cooperation with the senior adviser, mobility, the incumbent evaluates and proposes processes to implement in order to improve services to internal and external partners and to students. Establishes diagnostics and issues recommendations with a view to solving complex problems and following up on them as required. Designs and applies work procedures and tools to improve mobility sector performance.
  • Actively participates in designing the operations and communication schedules, and in updating them.
  • Continuously updates data on our platforms to ensure that all our national and international partners, and all related resources and information, are online.
  • Manages applications and communications for Global Affairs Canada international scholarship programs, and follows up on them.
  • Represents the University of Ottawa at conferences, exchange fairs and missions, both in Canada and internationally.
What you will bring:
  • University degree or equivalent combination of studies and relevant work experience
  • Three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in program coordination or administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of university environments and administration, including programs of study, academic regulations, enrolment procedures, and all student services.
  • Experience in analyzing academic files and in interpreting and applying regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of international post-secondary education systems
  • Organizational and analytical skills, excellent judgment and attention to detail
  • Experience in communications (including public speaking), as well as interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Good teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of various software programs
  • Marked skill in cross-cultural communications and excellent sense of diplomacy
  • Ability to work well under pressure and on several projects simultaneously
  • Availability to work on a flexible schedule in order to participate in international missions and in activities that sometimes occur in the evening or on weekends
  • Advanced skill in writing and speaking both French and English
  • Knowledge of a third language is an asset
