Operating in a strong team environment within Geophysical Acquisition, the Senior Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all phases of the geophysical data acquisition process. The role objective is delivery of the highest quality subsurface data, planned and executed with the health and safety of all workers and preservation of the environment as core values.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster a safe working environment through leading by example.

  • Plan and deliver Start Safe messages, kickoff meetings and site safety stand-downs.

  • Facilitate tabletop and man-down drills with emergency management, health and safety, and plant operations personnel.

  • Provide leadership and project management to the Cenovus Geophysical Field Supervisors maintaining safe operations and balancing cost, schedule, and quality.

  • Understand and adhere to Cenovus HSE policies and Geophysical Field Operations Guidelines document.

  • Planning and coordinating all phases of the field geophysical acquisition process.

  • Provide input to program schedules and identify / mitigate potential conflicts in the schedule and timelines.

  • Pre-program interaction / planning, load leveling and scheduling with other Cenovus disciplines (Drilling / Completions / Earthworks / Camps etc.) to obtain seismic data.

  • Monitor day to day geophysical field activities daily reports, budget tracking, progress tracking and forecasting.

  • Review cost analysis of actual versus predicted final cost for Cenovus Geophysical program.

  • Develop look back reports and implement corrective actions into future program.

  • Communicate with other field discipline coordinators and when possible, load level equipment / services to create Cenovus value.

  • Manage landowner permitting and releasing.

  • Manage seismic program applications, final plans, and site condition reports.

  • Manage Road Use and Pipeline Crossing Agreements.

  • Manage Environmental Project Proposals to Sask. Ministries of Environment and Agriculture, including As-Built Reports.

  • Work with AB and Sask. regulators to discuss variances from Directives/Regulations.


Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to work in the office in downtown Calgary

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in geophysical acquisition project management

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Provincial and Federal Oil and Gas Regulations, Directives, Standards and Industry Best Practices focused on seismic field and acquisition practices

  • Familiar with upstream oil & gas operations

  • Experience in safety compliance requirements regarding geophysical acquisition activities and worker OH&S safety

  • Demonstrates leadership in advancing safety culture

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Flexible to changing work demands and priorities

  • Able to work independently within a fast-paced team environment

  • Ability to manage volume fluctuation in workload effectively

  • Highly organized and able to meet critical schedule demands

  • Well-developed team skills and a collaborative work style

  • Ability to be a safety leader and remain proficient in crucial conversations
