Job Description


Lightspeed is looking for a results-driven Content Writer to be the voice of Lightspeed for the hospitality industry. As a key member of Lightspeed\'s dynamic in-house marketing team, you\'ll deliver content for a range of projects on multiple channels. You\'ll be the go-to expert on Lightspeed\'s suite of software solutions for restaurants, supporting the heads of content and Hospitality on product launches, campaign ideation and execution, editorial planning and additional initiatives that expand our reach into new and existing markets. Your work will have a direct impact on positioning Lightspeed as the leading commerce platform for hospitality businesses in North America.

You\'ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering highly polished, creative and impactful copy that supports the go-to-market strategy and launch of new products and product updates
  • Managing and executing the hospitality content calendar (blogs, social media, webinars, customer stories, etc.) to support marketing and PR needs
  • Developing an in-depth knowledge of our key products, customers and businesses, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Writing and managing content on our website, ensuring it follows style guidelines and making recommendations for improvements
  • Optimizing content performance with guidance from acquisitions and marketing leads
  • Staying up to date on hospitality industry news and trends
You\'ll bring to the team:
  • 3-5 years of experience in #copywriting or #journalism
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience
  • In-depth knowledge of content marketing
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, from #sales to #product to support
  • A passion for #hospitality or a willingness to learn more
  • Ability to take complex concepts and explain them simply and briefly
  • Strong empathy for users and a passion for creating content that connects
  • A working knowledge of ROI-tracking, and a desire to learn more
  • Outstanding writing skills and crazy attention to detail
  • Ability to poke holes in copy-including your own-and iterate quickly
  • Ability to create campaign concepts from detailed #MarketingBriefs
  • Knowledge of social media platforms
  • Familiarity with content management systems like #Wordpress
Even better if you have, but not necessary:
  • Experience and contacts in the hospitality industry
  • Experience managing an editorial calendar
  • Technical writing and/or journalism experience
  • Intermediate to advanced SEO and web analytics knowledge
