Come and join us - Where payments meet purpose! | About The Role Reporting to the Head, Compliance and Privacy, functioning as part of a collegial team under general supervision, the Senior Compliance Officer is responsible for:

  • Providing support and advice for the compliance function which requires knowledge of compliance requirements.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert with respect to by-law and rules-related matters, seeking out peer review where appropriate.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with internal business partners, Payments Canada\xe2\x80\x99s members and external stakeholders.

  • Provide guidance and advice with respect to member compliance matters, including inquiries escalated to the member compliance team, etc.
  • Participate on the operational incident review team and provide advice and guidance with respect to any necessary follow up on member operational incidents.
  • Act as Compliance team representative for internal review of quarterly Operational Health Report to the Bank of Canada, highlighting any issues to the Head, Compliance and Privacy.
  • Draft new procedures, or update current procedures, as part of enhancements to the compliance program.
  • Draft supporting documentation such as training/education materials, reports to Board, correspondence, etc. as required.
  • Maintain inventory of high-risk compliance requirements and supporting information.
  • Where applicable, work with business units on plans to become compliant with legislative or regulatory requirements, including review of materials and tracking of progress.
  • Provide guidance and advice to business units with respect to updates to internal policies to ensure they align with legislative requirements.
  • Coordinate with applicable business units on training required under legislation.
| Minimum Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in law, political science, business administration, or related field
  • Minimum of five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience within the financial services industry, preferably in a compliance function
  • Experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in delivering reports and briefings to senior leadership
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements

| Salary Range Based on qualifications and experience: $91,801 and $114,751 | Payments Meets Purpose - What you can expect from us
