Are you a self-motivated, team player, climate change fighter individual seeking an opportunity to make an impact? If so, The City of Abbotsford\xe2\x80\x99s Environmental Services Division is looking for a seasoned climate action professional to join their growing team as the Senior Community Energy Lead. This is currently a two year term opportunity, with the possibility to be extended or transformed into a permanent position.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Energy and Climate Action, this position provides expertise in community climate action matters while supporting corporate actions. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, community members, industry and utility partners to help achieve the City\xe2\x80\x99s targets related to mitigating and adapting to climate change. This position will be leading program design and implementation of community energy programs, advancing Energy Step Code adoption, and supporting policy development. Additional responsibilities include organizing stakeholder consultations, researching industry and policy trends, and assisting in projects and initiatives that have any carbon impact.

You excel in community engagement, relationship building, research, project and change management. You possess extensive knowledge of current energy and climate change mitigation policies, including the CleanBC plan, the BC Energy Step Code along with considerable knowledge of federal legislation and local government processes and bylaws.

In order to be considered for this position you must have:
A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in building engineering, resource and environmental management, applied science, or a related professional field.

A minimum of four years\xe2\x80\x99 directly related experience including advanced data analysis, project management, and energy modeling.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

This position is unionized, C.U.P.E Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $43.34 to $50.96.
